Startup from Paraná makes exclusive recruitment for IT area

ICON Talent is one of the only ones in the country with a recruitment directed to the IT area. In its database there are more than 5,000 registered professionals.

The Information Technology (IT) market is expected to grow 10.5% in Brazil by the end of 2019, backed up by digital transformation processes, technology replacement movements and the sale of PCs, tablets, smartphones, printers and other devices. This is the forecast of IDC Brazil (International Data Corporation Market Research and Consulting).

Women are more qualified than men in IT, but earn 34% less. Due to these numbers, and also to the personal experience in this environment, that the partners Christina Curcio and Janaina Lima founded, almost two years ago, Icon Talent, a startup from Paraná specialized in recruitment and selection for the area of information technology. Their idea was to find profiles of professionals that this "new market" requires – with new challenges and relationships within companies, startups and businesses – and/or empower them for the day-to-day of companies.

“IT has to be business-oriented, and the business has to be IT oriented. That is why the technical and behavioral skills of candidates need to go hand in hand," recalls Christina Curcio, phD in management by Florida Christian University (FCU) and founding partner of ICON Talent.

In view of this scenario, the partners developed their own methodology. The method takes into account 5 points to achieve the "perfect match" – the perfect meeting – between the vacancy and the candidate sought by companies, startups and businesses. It seems to be working well.

Today, ICON is one of the only ones in the country with a recruitment directed to the IT area and has carried out more than 100 contractions for 40 different companies, among startups, small, medium and large ones, in different segments.

5 Points for "Perfect Match"

Get to know the five points highlighted by the startup at the time of making the "fit".

  1. Technical survey of it and human resources needs of companies
  2. Preparation of the technical validation test of the candidate for presentation to IT managers
  3. Behavioral profile analysis of the candidate
  4. Recruitment process and selection of the IT professional in a foreign language (whenever required) from the beginning of the selection process
  5. Double follow up in the first month of recruited in the company

According to ICON, the methodology has worked. Its database now has more than 5,000 professionals. "The IT professional once lived in an area completely isolated from the others within the company. Today it is different. The IT professional needs to be attentive to the business, get closer to the other areas, understands the real needs of each of them and presents solutions. In addition, he needs to know how each area makes use of the technological solutions presented by him", explains Janaina Lima, postgraduate in Strategic Planning and Management at PUC-PR and partner of ICON Talent.
